Elliott Smith Sculptures and Glass Studio
1) Elliott Smith Studios
Heather and Will Elliott, 41 Wellington Mill Rd, Wellington Mill. 6236. Mob: 0439455988
The garden has evolved through various owners since it was part of Seargentsdale in the 1930s, when it was planted with fruit trees and a bay tree. It is an evolutionary garden. These gnarled, majestic giants were added to in the 1960s when the property was owned by Nerys Purchon, renowned for her Herbcraft and hosted a vegetarian restaurant, run by the Rajanishi commune. An avenue of Cork Oaks was also planted. Seedlings from the range of obscure herbs and the cork oaks continue to self-sow and grow.
Heather and William Elliott (recently wed and recently retired) have utilised these wonderful assets to begin developing a low maintenance, water-wise sculpture garden, using rocks found on the property and from Boyup Brook. It features primarily Australian natives. The garden is maturing and evolving as sculptures are created and moved to new homes and land art is installed and matures. Areas of the garden reflect the endeavours of previous owners.
Entry Fee: $5/person. Not suitable for people with mobility disability. NB: small buses welcome by prior arrangement.
